Haiku Bombers: Five Senses

Quill Shiv has a weekly Wednesday haiku writing prompt

Today's prompt is the five senses

Head to her website to read her haiku, those of other writers' and to join in:

Here are my attempts:

Sight

Bright in your glory,
I miss you in the dark spells –
Rainbows of colour

Taste

Juice flicks as I peel –
Zesty, fresh, sharp and sweet, it
Lingers on my tongue

Smell

Vanilla, lemon,
Warm bread rising, salt sea breeze -
These scents I love most

Hear

Hopping on branches
He twitters, bobbing his head
To his soft Spring song

Touch

In the chill morning
Before you wake, I snuggle
Against your warm skin

Haiku Bombers 4: Time

Quill Shiv has a weekly Wednesday haiku writing prompt

Today's prompt is this picture and the subject of  TIME

Head to her website to read her haiku, those of other writers' and to join in:

Here are my attempts:

Time ticks tock tick tock
Shadows curse the chill hour
Deathly midnight, hush

Time ticks past a life
Races you, tricks you, lies in
The hand of the old

Time changed her - knowing
Everything he does is wrong
She sucks his bones dry!

The rhyme outside time
Plays with words echoing thoughts
Wrapped up inside

I leave time standing
In the hour of the glass
Strewn between sands

Time stops still and stares,
Glancing back through frozen air
It feels our despair

The hours, they drift by
In this endless stream of time -
Tick tock winds itself

In the midnight hour
He strums his guitar and sings
Tales of times gone by

She recalls moments
Sealed inside her photographs -
Joyous times of old

Smearing on lipstick
June smiles at her reflection,
Wishing to grow up now

Haiku Bombers: the stars in space

Quill Shiv has a new weekly (Wednesday) haiku writing prompt

Today's prompt is this picture:

Head over to her website to read her haiku, those of other writers' and to join in:

Here are my attempts:

Heading for the stars
I feel the silence of space
Wrapt in wondrous blue

Our ship seeks the stars
In our search for new life as
Our home planet fades

Speeding towards light
Sparkling blue cuts the darkness -
The premise of life

Light spreads before me
As my craft hurtles through space
What is drawing us?

Piercing light breaks forth
Splashing the darkness alight
Into the blue we fly

Haiku Bombers 2

Quill Shiv has a new weekly (Wednesday) haiku writing prompt

Today's theme is St Patrick's Day

Head over to her website to join in:

Here are my haiku:

Stick a shamrock in
Your Guinness this Paddy’s Day –
On the piss we go!

Devout Patron Saint
Of Ireland, how did you come
To be beer toasted?

From slave to bishop
We now toast Saint Patrick with
The toucan’s dark pint

Please add your own below - I'd love to read them!!
