A Poem a Day (512): The same time

Following a prompt from Robert Lee Brewer (Poetic Asides blog): write ‘The blank time’ poem.

The same time

It’s the same time that we take
a walk and wonder at the
sparrows in the trees, and
the smells and the wheeze
of spring; its touch and mood,
the way the light glints off,
the however lines of the sun.

A memory skips in and out, and
off we go, recalling small things
we thought we’d long forgot,
resurrected ghosts. It’s the
same time as yesterday, same
life, same skin, different colours.

Here we go again, rebeginning
with the fresh meld of spring,
finding hope in an ending,
feeling where a myriad strands
weave, gaining understanding
of how we fit, as we breathe.
