A Poem a Day (517): Seconds

Following a Robert Lee Brewer prompt: write a forgetful poem.
His poem: https://www.writersdigest.com/write-better-poetry/wednesday-poetry-prompts-605

Seconds

The forgetting time ticks.
It doesn’t have a hall pass,
or a bell to herald its arrival.
In it walks with a sashay,
pendulum slashing the air,
silver lace filigree hung free.
Softly serenade the seconds,
the choke of the hour loud.
And in the moment changed
we invent the forgetting time.
