A Poem a Day (29) - She Walks with the Sky

Here's a quick poem I wrote for today... was thinking of the moon...

She Walks with the Sky

She walks with the sky
Arm-in-arm between the times
Sips juice from the freshest lime
Rumbling thunder draws nigh
Forlorn the babe that wanders
Alone beneath the waning moon
Wonderful the silvery sight
Of this glistening starlight

She walks with the sky
Dances with the fire flies
Laughs wherever she lies
On the breath of the breeze
Moths hurtle in the dark
Whispering on the lily pads
Hops a deep-sounding frog
Merrily from log to log

She walks with the sky
Underneath this dark blue hue
Listening where the song is due
That holds the deepest secret
Beneath the lake’s still surface
A green-haired mermaid swims
Begging the stars not to leave
On this Midsummer’s Eve.

I was thinking of the moon and a girl wandering, kind of dreaming.
