A Poem a Day (281): Nature’s call

I’ve posted this one on JD Mader’s writing website, Unemployed Imagination, for 2minutesgo. Get, set, write! Head over to his place to read, write and comment… http://www.jdmader.com/2020/10/2-minutes-go_16.html

Nature’s call

This great responsibility,
a personal address

to the sacred being inside,
the peaceful thinker

lost to a history of thought.
Footsteps in the park,

stories beyond the lake,
leaves strewn like tea

telling fortunes to the sky.
Oftentimes it pours here,

raining unseen letters,
pretty odes to nature

and whispered secrets
forgotten in time.

Nature hears it all,
gives a silent call

to the speaking world
to be less,

tread lighter,
and leave nothing behind.
