A Poem a Day (446): Brush and bridge

Brush and bridge

We walk out,
a bridge over tranquil
water, cast in wood,
this fine unravelling
of even planks.
We walk on mist.
An artist sketches
at the end point.
Sat upon the horizon,
his brush pirouettes.
He paints the light,
the way it shifts,
scattering rich patterns
over this crescent lake.
