First, here's a poem for Spring (previously posted on this blog)

Dragonfly

In this greenest of grass

Where the cracked ivy winds

Ever searching to burrow

Buttercups nod to the sun

This blaze of egg-yolk yellow

Set in a wash of purest blue

Here, in the mind’s eye

The imagination runs wild

A neon-blue dragonfly

Flits delicate gossamer wings

Whirring to create a current

Of moving air to play upon

Against nature’s own breeze

These valleys dive deep below

Verdant fields of lowing sheep

Unrestrained by fences

Wandering as free as they will

Bowing to the buttercups bobbing

Where the dragonfly hums

Following a diving accident, Jayne wakes up in hospital, paralysed. Depression sinks her as she battles to adjust mentally while her body fights to heal itself. A mysterious visitor gives her a beautiful crystal with a shimmering blue mist at its heart, but why does she leave such a gift? Through the crystal, Jayne finds herself in an alternate world in which her body is whole again. In the wondrous city of Entyre beneath the roaring waves, she is welcomed by the telepathic Balaenoptera and meets her first love. But when Jayne’s world shatters, sending her crashing back to Earth, it would seem that the crystal is a bringer of chaos. With time ever evading her, Jayne must seek out creatures of legend in a blood-red land uninhabited by humans. The Kiwi Series

Have you ever wished your cat could talk or wondered
where he/she goes when you are not around?

Kiwi seems like a typical moggie, content to nap in the sun and chase shadows, but she has a secret. She is a magical cat from a place called Cat City. With her two humans, James and Amy, Kiwi finds mysteries and adventures, dealing with catnappings, jewel thieves, giant rats, time travel, haunted houses, Father Christmas, pyramids and more. The fun stories contain positive messages about loyalty, friendship, honesty, bullying and the power of standing together. The books contain illustrations by Nikki McBroom. Furry fun for ages 9-99.

"Very well written fantasy about an alternate reality for cats. It creates a richly detailed place called Cat City where a suspenseful mystery story unfolds. Two young children are transported to this realm by their magical cat where they play an important role in solving a case of catnapping. The details of this world are amazing, but equally impressive are the details of the characters which are brought to life vividly by the author. I found myself laughing aloud at the many witty sections and comical situations. If Pixar is looking for their next animated feature hit, they should contact this author about an adaptation of this book." (Ed Drury)

Romance is in the Air Giveaway Hop (Feb 8-14)

In the run-up to big old V-Day, I'm thrilled to be involved in the Romance is in the Air Blog Giveaway, organised by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and co-hosted by Rachael Anderson.

I'm giving away a paperback copy of my comedy romance 3 Heads & a Tail.

Five runners-up will receive ebook copies. Good luck!!

All you need to do is answer the questions in the Rafflecopter.

What is 3 Heads & a Tail?

I wrote this book for NaNoWriMo 2011, and it is a quirky comedy romance with a touch of fantasy and walkies.

When nature lover Josie moves into a house share with two pals, dreamer Ben and model man David, she sees it as a short stop and doesn't bank on an attraction developing with one of them. Meanwhile, Ben's dog, Glen, has the hots for Miss Posh, the beautiful golden Lab in the park. When dog meets dog it's puppy love, but a complication leads to Glen taking matters into his own paws. In this comedy of errors, romance and walkies, it's anyone's guess who is going to win the girl/dog and live happily ever after.

Review from Donna Brown - Amazon UK

"I like funny books. I like books that make me go Aaaahhhhh! and Squeeeeeee! Mr B likes them less. I'm sure it must be very hard to be a serious fantasy writer when your wife keeps reading one liners and laughing like a hyena. What can I say? The book is laugh out loud funny and deserves to be celebrated."

Don't forget to click on the various blogs on the linky to find more cool giveaways! Get your hands on some good romance.

Happy reading :))))

Good luck everyone :)
